As we enter into this new week, this scripture that was shared with me this morning is refreshing and reassuring. When following Christ, there are so many times that we fail in our pursuit of righteousness due to our sinful natures and unclean hearts. We are not worthy of God’s love, yet, He loves us still. Even in our imperfect ways, God loves us.
In Psalm 51:10, after committing adultery with Bathsheba, David is pleading with God to cleanse his heart. Chapter 51 of the book of Psalms in its entirety is of David requesting forgiveness and restoration to the joy of the Lord’s salvation for his transgressions.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.”
Psalms 51:10 NLT
We need God’s sustaining grace and mercy daily. We need renewal and we need help. As followers of Christ, the good news is that, through salvation, we have it. As you go through your week, delight in God’s grace and mercy. Know that the true desire to walk in righteousness is available through Christ Jesus. You have only to ask for it. 🤍
