Admittedly, as a teen and young adult, I became bored with Easter and the story of salvation. While I understood the significance of my own salvation, I didn’t quite understand the depth of the grace, mercy, and love that was wrapped into this precious gift.
While my understanding has grown since then, that has only come as a result of growing in the knowledge of who God truly is. God is unconditional love. God is kind. God is faithful. God is a true friend. God sacrificed His son, for you and for me.
Imagine sacrificing your child or closest family member to give a lifeline for human beings in their sinful nature who may or may not decide to go the way of eternal life. No way…not me. 🙅🏾♀️ But even on a maybe, God still gives us free will to choose and that just blows my mind.
There are many who claim to serve God but do not claim Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In John 14:6, Jesus makes it extremely clear that the only way to the Father (God) is through him (Jesus).
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 NLT
It is through confession of accepting Jesus into our hearts that we have access to the ONE true God and eternal life.
It is my prayer that the depth of the story of Jesus’ death, resurrection and sacrifice is known deeply in the heart of God’s children. It is anything but boring. It is the only gift that keeps on giving.
Have a Holy Week🪴😉
