[3 minute read] This summer was wonderful and I am truly thankful for the slowness of it all. Summer is such a wonderful opportunity for a change in routine. Slower mornings and evenings too. More time to relax yet having the opportunity to still get done all that needs to be done. I personally love the longer days to soak up the sun while spending time with my family.
The first trip of the summer for us was a family road trip to Orlando, FL which was by far the best family vacation we’ve experienced in my opinion. My husband would agree. There was no hassle of dealing with airplanes and security checkpoints (We all know how that can be, especially with little ones in tow) and I loved every bit of it. Anyways, our villa was amazing, as was the resort and we were so close to everything. It really felt like home away from home. By God’s grace, we definitely plan to return.

A few weeks later, I was off to California for a girls trip! R & R was on the menu for a few days thanks to my wonderful husband that is always so supportive of me having time to recharge. Wine Country me please! Napa Valley was such a wonderful place to visit and experience. I visited some amazing vineyards and wineries and tasted enough wine to not want any for a while. But it was all worth it. I would definitely love to return, but maybe in the Fall next time. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be with all the Fall foliage!

Finally, my husband and I headed off to Bali Indonesia where we had the BEST time! The views, the people, the food, everything was simply amazing. It was two weeks of pure relaxation and ease and the experience was one that we will never forget. There is no medicine quite like travel, which is why I love it so much. The summers allow for more time to do what you love. This summer truly owes me nothing but another one next year just as lovely :).

Overall, I am extremely grateful for the time the Lord redeems during the summer months. It makes me smile when I think about the small details of my life and how even in those details, He is there, providing what I need and directing my path. I was tidying up a few weeks ago after dinner and tears began to fill my eyes because I was truly overwhelmed by the privilege of sweeping the floor clear of crumbs that came from a dinner for my family. Sharing space with my little family is truly my heart’s joy and so I can only give thanks to God for what he has created. Love. Family. Home. Summer. Slow summers. 🫶🏽
