It is finally time to say goodbye to 2023! And what a year it’s been. Seriously, God has spoken to me in such intimate ways this year. I pray that this intimacy continues to grow. A few key takeaways for me this year have been that:
- God is kind. When we as unworthy humans become bratty, unappreciative, and muddled in complaints…He is still so kind to us, loving us, showing His goodness and extending mercy and grace like only He can.
- Complaining NEVER changes anything for the better. It actually makes things worse. The moment you thank God for the very thing you’re complaining about, your heart begins to change, your gratitude meter goes up and the stress begins to walk on by. I went from “this job is stressful and demanding, Lord why did you allow me to come here” to “Lord thank you that I am able bodied and minded to work, thank you Lord that I have income to help support my family.” This mind shift changed so many things for me. Legit…try gratitude. Don’t complain. Take it to the Lord and ask for wisdom and endurance in whatever situation you are facing.
- Slowing down is good for my relationship with God, my family and myself. None of us need to do all the things. Being over committed, stretched thin and stressed out are not what called has God us to. Personally, God has called me to serve and love my family, obedience and to truly know Him. What has He called you to? Do you have the heart to hear Him? Or are you incessantly hurried from one task to the next? Slow down…open you heart, quiet your mind, tune your heart and get to really know Jesus.
Okay, so that’s it! Short and simple as always. I pray that this year has left you with wonderful parting gifts and if not, I pray that God continues to give you strength to press forward for the coming year. He is with you. He is with us all 🙂
Take a look at my top 12 moments from this year (in no particular order)! See ya’ll in 2024!!
Goodbye 2023!
