It’s the first of November BUT I’m not rushing to put up my Christmas decor because, it’s STILL Autumn and what is not to love about that?!?! 🍂🍁 I’m always so excited for the smells, the pumpkin spice EVERYTHING, the colors and the crisp air.
Now, living in South Florida, things feel and look a bit different but that hasn’t and likely never will stop me from enjoying all that the wonderful season of autumn brings. 🙂
I’m even writing a post about it because I want the world to know that Fall is my favorite season of all! 😆
Let me start by saying Kansas City, MISSOURI!
#1 Kansas City, MO
Since I live in South Florida where the weather is most likely, hot and humid, I use this as an opportunity to fly to my hometown of Kansas City to take in all the fall feels! I legit will not drink a pumpkin spice latte until I feel the crisp air on my face. The weather has to be giving “long sleeved shirt” vibes.
#2 The Decor
I love a good decorative item for my home anytime of the year, but when it comes to Fall, it’s just something about the decor that makes me extremely excited. I have been opting to go with a more neutral fall with small pops of orange (some terracotta, some burnt) and hints of green with woodsy elements. I’m pretty simple when it comes to decor overall so naturally, my fall decor is simple but even still, I’m just so happy about it all!
#3 The Smells
Spiced pumpkin, cranberry, sage, apple, pecan waffles, cinnamon….the list goes on and on! The smells of Autumn are divine. I usually light a few candles and let the wonderful fragrances do the rest. Freshly baked cookies and banana bread lends a hand as well. Yummy!
#4 Fall Memories
This is surely the time to go to your nearest pumpkin patch and pick pumpkins, enjoy a cup of warm cider while out in the crisp air, and even play in the beautiful fall leaves, all of which create wonderful memories for the entire family. I always enjoy going to the pumpkin patch with my family and watching the kids climb haystacks, pick pumpkins, find their way through a corn maze, enjoy apple cider donuts, kettle corn, hot chocolate, the works! I absolutely join in on the fun too! I remember going to pumpkin patches as a kid and having so much fun. I’m here for all of the memories!
#5 Gateway to the Holidays and Tradition
Shortly after Fall arrives, there’s football, Thanksgiving, holidays, holiday travel and lots of gatherings. Whew! The excitement is too much for me! Being with family is literally my favorite thing to do in general. The holidays are just the cherry on top. My family loves to travel and go to Orlando, FL for the Florida Classic Game and festivities. Then we gear up for Thanksgiving by either hosting, or heading to Ormond Beach, FL and finally gear up for Christmas in Kansas City, MO and get ready for the New Year! Eeek! Yessss for Fall!
So you see, there are so many things I love about Autumn but for the sake of keeping this post short, these are my top five! Do any of these resonate with you? What are some of the reason s you love, like, or even dislike Autumn! Please share, I’d love to hear from you!
