Time for a book review! My last post for the month will typically consist of a book review. Why though?! Well we’re friends here so I’m going to just say it…writing a book review will literally force me to make time to read leisurely. I read all day everyday for work, but I always wish I had more time to read other things that have nothing to do with legal briefs and motions. So I’m forcing myself to make time (yikes)! Terrible, I know- but I’m being completely honest. Seriously though, who doesn’t like a recommendation for a good read??? I win, you win, we all win!
I can only commit to one book a month in this season of life but I’m hoping that changes with time. I love reading and I truly wish I had more time to do it but here we are, making it work as best as possible! So let’s get into it 🙂
review
I originally learned of this book through the YouVersion App devotional titled “Becoming a Well-Watered Woman In A Parched World”. You can check out the devotional here! Once I completed the devotional I knew I had to check out the book!
The book is broken down into three sections, The Well, The Word, and The Way. It goes through the author’s many seasons of life providing biblical truths and encouragement. Gretchen does a great job of explaining the many pitfalls that women fall into when it comes to falling short of being in God’s Word. What’s important to note is that Gretchen brings the reader back to the grace of God in the midst of those pitfalls, over and over again. Through Gretchen’s life experiences you are able to truly glean a better understanding of God’s grace and provision for his daughters.
the thirst is real!
If you are in a season of spiritual dryness and your thirst for God is REAL, this book is for you. Gretchen has beautifully constructed this text to show women that God truly meets us where we are in our daily comings and goings while also challenging us to lean into God, the One that supplies our every need.
There were soooo MANY jewels in this book! You’re sure to be blessed by it!
